After a long hiatus due to COVID restrictions, Navadarshanam is pleased to resume the structured visitor programs. We are announcing a 3-day yoga workshop titled Building Resilience from May 26th (5 pm) – May 29th (2pm). This yoga workshop aims to offer an opportunity to venture inwards, build self-awareness, explore and build physical and emotional self-resilience through self-regulation techniques.
We seek to cover the following as part of this workshop
• Practices that will include gentle and trauma-sensitive yoga, pranayama, and meditation.
• Help you adapt the yoga practice for your unique individual life circumstances
• Attempt to bring clarity as to how these tools/practices could be used for fulfilling your aims, spiritual or secular
• We will discuss the underlying philosophy and relevant science/research that supports these practices
• We will discuss and answer questions based on our experience with regards to lifestyles and food choices to stay healthy
• Yoga nidra sessions which are wonderful guided meditations that we hope will help you relax while being attentive and alert
Participants will have to arrive on Thursday May 26th by 5 pm for orientation and the workshop ends at 2 pm on Sunday May 29th.
This workshop is conducted by Murthy Jarugumilli (C-IAYT – Certified Yoga Therapist), Veena Achar(Certified Yoga Instructor).
Physical Ability
We will be practicing gentle yoga; you are not expected to be flexible to avail the full benefits from this workshop. We will offer modifications and adjustments as needed to suit your current situation/condition. We will also have a few chairs available should you need one to modify and practice yoga poses from a chair.
• Participants need to be able to independently stay on their own feet, be able to go down onto a mat on the floor and come back up without assistance. If you would choose to practice only Chair Yoga, then, you need to be able to stand and return to sitting on the chair without assistance. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to write to us.
• If you have a specific condition, it is important that you let us know at the time of registration. (All information will be kept private and confidential).
Format
Daily practice will include early morning and evening gentle yoga with pranayama and meditation. During the day, there will be sessions on philosophy, yoga nidra, diet, and relevant topics in science and current research. We will maintain periods of silence, and time for walks in nature, so that you may be able to reflect on what is discussed and practiced. There will be a short chanting/bhajan session at the of the day.
This workshop will be conducted in English.
Registration/Fee
The fee for this workshop is Rs.4000/- per participant. Please note that these paid programs help sustain Navadarshanam and its activities/programs financially through the year.
We limit the number of participants to about 12 due to space constraints and register participants on a first come basis. So if you are interested, please get back to us at the earliest. We will have a waiting list if needed and will let you know.

Food & Lodging
The program is being held at Navadarshanam about 50km outside Bangalore. We will be serving organic wholesome vegan vegetarian food. Participants will be given simple and comfortable shared accommodation.
